Our Story
A Single Machine, a Kept Word, and a Family Trade
DJ Roberts founded Roberts Construction Inc. in 2003 on a straightforward belief: build it right the first time and the referrals take care of themselves. In the early days it was a single operator and one machine running out of Sterling, CT. A reputation spread through Windham County the way it always does in small towns — one well-finished site at a time.
Today DJ leads the crews alongside his son Trevor, who came up around the equipment and now manages much of the scheduling and the client side of the business. The technology has advanced — GPS on the excavators, laser control on the grade — yet the approach to a project is unchanged: arrive when promised, invoice the price that was quoted, and stay on site until the work is right.
From site preparation and foundation excavation to grading, drainage, septic, and land clearing, the work has stayed close to home and close to the ground. That is exactly how the Roberts family wants it.

DJ Roberts
Founded the company in 2003 and still climbs into the cab on the larger jobs. Twenty-plus years of reading eastern Connecticut soil, ledge, and groundwater mean DJ can usually tell what a site holds before the first bucket breaks ground.
Second Generation
Trevor Roberts
Raised on the job sites and now the engine that keeps the operation running — estimates, scheduling, and the daily contact with clients. Call about a project and odds are Trevor is the voice on the other end.
